Good:Joytech replaced my blown remotes. Bad:What about my faulty Power Station?
A nice surprise from the postman today.
A package arrived with 2 new Wii remotes and a blank "with compliments" slip, replacing the remotes that the Joytech Power Station blew
There was no advance warning of the package being sent, but giving Joytech credit it did arrive inside the 28 days they considered it could take.
The only problems that I now have are that I need to find some batteries.....I don't have rechargeables now since I sent them back with the faulty Power Station. I don't know what they plan to do about the faulty Power Station that I sent back in the same package. Will I get a replacement or a cheque, or have they simply overlooked the fact that they do have my Power Station?
In truth, I don't know whether I really want the Power Station back after the bad experience...would I trust it? Maybe, maybe not, but it would be nice if they talked to me about it or included some comment with the remotes they sent, such that I am not left wondering.
So....the story is not yet over. I have dropped their support an email to ask what they propose....but a half day later I have no response.

DV Rental stores are dead. Postal is king with a Free DVD to keep!!
Here is a great offer...1 Free DVDto keep forever and to watch maybe 3-4 DVDs for free too.
If you read earlier entries, I am still waiting for my remotes to be replace by Joytech, so no Wii-play until that happens. I know that JoyTech got my package since I sent it next day delivery and tracked...it would be nice if they acknowledged that directly and gave me an indication of progress on replacements.
Anway, in the interim, I am making more use of my DVD rental service from MyMovieStream. This is great...I don't have to try and watch a DVD in a rush as the subscription allows me to keep a movie as long as I like without any late payment fees, though I try to turn them around as soon as I can in order to watch as many DVDs as I can. For those that don't realise, this is a postal service, keeping overheads down and keeping a service going where otherwise it might be uneconomic (my local Choices DVD Rental bricks and mortar store closed recently).
The idea of watching on the day of receipt and turning straight back doesn't quite pan out when the kids refuse to go to sleep and you don't get to watch a DVD on the night that you planned, but the flip side is that at least your rental fee doesn't go down the toilet because you can hold onto the DVD for an extra day or two (or more if you need to) without any penalty.
I tried LoveFilm in the past and I was bitterly disappointed with them....DVDs that were supposed to have been sent to me failed to arrive, or when they did they were virtually unplayable, being scratched beyond belief. I don't think that they are related because MyMovieStream has not failed me so far.
It is a shame that I am not looking to join them afresh now or I could be getting a free trial with a free DVD to keep for my trouble.
I heartily recommend MyMovieStream and if you use the code SUNDVD8 (a Daily Sun offer, but generally available), you can either get 2 weeks free trial (fit in around three free rentals) or a half-price first month. You even get to select a free DVD to keep forever from a range of 16.
So.....My wife and I wish that we could have an occasional game of bowling on the Wii, but that will need to wait on our replacement kit. In the meantime MyMovieStream is keeping us fed with some DVD entertainment as quickly as we can return our DVDs.
I heartily commend the extremely good offer running at present which is available through the banner at the top of this page and wish that I was looking now for myself. I recommend that you take it up whilst it is atill around.....you havenothing to lose on it.
Please note that this offer is only running until 14th September, so please take it up now if you are at all tempted.
10/10 from me though!!
